Sigma gave us their ultimate freshers’ soundtrack

The Leeds Uni duo have got your predrinks playlist sorted

With a fourth top-ten single and appearances at the likes of Glastonbury, Hideout and Creamfields, drum-and-bass duo Sigma have had a busy summer.

And the pair, made up of Leeds Uni alumni Joe Lenzie and Cameron Edwards, aren’t showing any signs of slowing down – having just announced a 10-date nationwide tour in October and November.

As the UK’s new dance scions, we figured they might know a thing or two about good music to get down to –  so with that in mind, we asked Joe and Cam to pick their best tracks for a hectic freshers’ week.

Here’s what they came up with: Sigma’s ultimate back-to-uni playlist…

Jonas Rathsman – Wolfsbane

“This tune is straight fire. It’s on repeat at the minute for us and it has all the vibes we like. A killer track for the SU freshers nights!”

Sigma – Changing (Ft. Paloma Faith) [Goldsmyth edition]

“This is our favourite on the Changing remix package. Goldsmyth always brings the vibes and we were very pleasantly surprised by this remix.”

The Weekend – Losers (Ft. Labrinth)

“Our boy Lab killing it with the Weekend. Massive tune and our favourite on
the album.”

Sigma & Diztortion – Redemption (Ft. Jacob Banks)

“This is our set opener both live and for our DJ sets. One of our favourite
tracks to date.”

DJ Clock – Pluto (Ft. Beatenberg)

“Heard this on the South African show on BBC Radio 1. It sums up the vibe
of the motherland, one of our favourite places on earth. Love this.”

Drake – Hotline Bling

“Drake is the man – this is just one of the many tracks we could have chosen. Perfect for blaring out loud in halls,or annoying your new neighbours if you’re living out.”

Sigma – Glitterball Ft. Ella Henderson

“This track has been a massive highlight of our live shows over the summer.
It’s a real hands in the air moment, and Ella kills the vocals. One to remember the festival season by!”

Seinabo Sey – Younger (Kygo remix)

“Everything Kygo does is gold. Perfect summer music – he deserves all the
success he’s getting.”

Sigma – Higher VIP (Ft. Labrynth)

“With this, we tried take it back to the old skool roots that we came from. Does the job on the dance floor.”

Gregory Porter – Liquid Spirit  (Claptone remix)

“Bringing back the funky house vibes. We used to love this kind of
stuff at uni and this kills it!”
