Nearly two-thirds of Cardiff voted to Remain in the EU

The Celtic Union is real

| UPDATED

60 per cent of Cardiff voted to Remain in the recent EU referendum, despite the popular vote going to Leave.

The popular vote was 52-48 to Leave, but Cardiff recorded a pro-EU majority of nearly two-to-one. The result mirrors Scotland, where sixty per cent of people voted to stay, with just forty per cent voting to leave. Why can’t the rest of Wales be like us?

Cardiff followed other major student centres by voting Remain, as it was joined by Oxford, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Bristol. The most pro-EU place in the entire country wasn’t actually in the country, with 95 per cent of Gibraltar voting to Remain in the EU.
