The best breakfasts in the UK to cure your hangover
The most important list you’ll read today
So, you had a few too many Jägerbombs last night.
Throw on your nearest T-shirt, grab your money and head out the door to cure that nausea and aching head.
After all, who needs painkillers when you can have bacon?
McDonald’s fries

You feel sick, your head is banging and you can barely see straight. The thought of food makes you even more queasy, but your mates drag you out to get something to eat.
In this Code Red situation, head to those golden arches and grab yourself a portion of their fries. The salt will make you drink more and rehydrate yourself, and the food will calm your stomach. Bingo.
Longhorn’s BBQ, Newcastle
The sticky, sweet BBQ sauce with a mountain of protein is a lifesaver in drastic situations. If the Texans can teach us anything, it’s that slow cooked beef brisket and pulled pork can cure even the most aggressive of hangovers.
Best enjoyed with an ice cold Budweiser. Hair of the dog and all that.
Rocotillo’s, Bristol
A milkshake is the perfect antidote after a night of heavy drinking. The coldness of the drink will cool your head while rehydrating and feeding you at the same time.
If you’re still hungry after one of their badboy shakes, have one of their full English breakfasts – trust us on this one.
Filmore and Union, Yorkshire
Best for nutritious food that’s delicious as well. Get those vitamins back in your body, and head here for a simple brunch.
They have restaurants in York and Leeds, Wetherby and Harrogate, Beverley, Skipton and Ilkley, and they offer a range of vegan and gluten-free options.
Vandal, Belfast

Vandal is the best place to go if your hangover brings you cravings for pizzas, chicken wings and milkshakes. It’s a new place that’s just opened, but head over there for food in a really cool setting.
Cosmo’s Buffet, Most major UK cities
Perfect for if you’re with a group of people who all want different things to cure their hangover, but be prepared to eat a pretty wacky array of foods.
From curry to pizza, sushi to roast chicken, it’s people pleasing, cheap and you can eat as much as you want!
Juju’s Cafe, Birmingham

Simple food, beautifully presented and in a lovely location by the canal, it’s perfect to fix those bleary eyes and dodgy tummies.
You can sit out in the fresh air and enjoy your full English to clear those cobwebs out of your head.
Pig In A Poke, Edinburgh
For those from the “hog roast” school of thought, this great restaurant found in Scotland’s capital is bound to please. The chilli sauce will undoubtedly perk you up and the wraps are famous in the city for being so delicious..
The Harley, Sheffield

If you haven’t had a Harley burger, you haven’t lived. Their pulled pork sweet potato fries are out of this world, and their milkshakes are amazing.
It’s a cool setting as well, and they do a great quiz on a Sunday night if you’re feeling rough from the night before and need something to take your mind of the nausea.
The Pot Cafe, Cardiff

An independent cafe in Cardiff, they serve breakfast until 2pm meaning you can have a lie in and get your breakfast. Perfect.
A full Welsh breakfast is very reasonably priced and they even serve vegan options.
Captain America’s Hamburger Heaven, Norwich
The clue is in the name really, but this really is the place to come for a great burger. They serve every type of burger under the sun, and their puddings are to die for.
The London Particular, London

Just around the corner from Goldsmith’s is The London Particular, and you’re bound to find a great breakfast here. Their coffee is also great if you need a bit of a pick-me-up after a night on the town.
Oxfork, Oxford
The full breakfasts are great, and they do every kind of egg you can imagine, be it poached or scrambled, boiled or fried. They offer plenty of veggie options as well to try, as well as Buck’s Fizz if you’re after hair of the dog.
Trof, Manchester
Set in the Northern Quarter, this trendy cafe is one to try. The breakfast is amazing (two words: hash browns) and the burgers are equally as tasty. A reasonable price for good food that will get that hangover out the door.
Wetherspoon’s (of course)

Last, but by no means least, is a good old Wetherspoon’s greasy breakfast. All day brunch is where it’s at when you feel dreadful, and you can’t beat it for the price.
