London has been ranked the best city in the world for graduate opportunities
There’s hope in spite of Brexit
PwC have announced London is the top global City of Opportunity for the second year in a row.
The annual ranking analyses the development of 30 global cities using 10 indicators of opportunity. London came in the top 10 cities for eight of the indicators, coming top in Economic Clout (beating New York and Beijing) and Intellectual Capital and Innovation (beating San Francisco and Paris).

London also came top of the World University ranking, but unsurprisingly performed poorly in one category in particular, coming 26th out of 30 in the ranking for the Cost of Living.
The report from PwC, a ‘Big Four’ accounting firm, relies on data collected before the EU Referendum, but nevertheless represents good news for London, currently going through a period of post-Brexit uncertainty. London increased its lead at the top of the rankings and scored well above the nearest EU competitors, Paris and Amsterdam, in fourth and fifth place respectively.
PwC Partner Ian Baxter suggested that while a lot of work was needed to ‘ensure London remains open for business and attractive to global talent’ in response to the referendum result, London remains ‘one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world, with a large, flexible economy and rich human capital on which to keep building its future’.
