Drinking gin and tonic can help cure hay fever symptoms so I’m never drinking anything else again

I’ll have 10 please

Nearly 30 per cent of people in the UK suffer from hay fever, but according to Hayley Spencer from Stylist, the cure could be as simple as a gin and tonic.

The findings come from an Asthma UK , who say certain alcoholic drinks are worse than others for triggering symptoms.

Certain drinks are high in histamines and sulphites, which bring on allergic reactions. Red wine is the main culprit, followed by white wine, beer and then cider.

To reduce triggering allergies, they recommend switching to clear spirits like gin and tonic, which are low in histamines and sulphites.

So to avoid watery eyes and sneezing next time you’re out, order an ice cold G&T.
