A ranking of university courses based on how white they are

Medicine and Law are actually amongst the most diverse

| UPDATED

The last year has seen a number of shocking racist incident on UK campuses. There was the Exeter group chat, the York student radio DJ who was called the n-word whilst she was live on air, and the black Sheffield student who had a banana thrown at him at Varsity.

We already know the Russell Group unis have a problem when it comes to diversity, with grime artist Stormzy now offering scholarships for black students who want to go to Cambridge.

We've ranked the Russell Group unis in terms of how white they are, but which courses are the whitest?

The whitest subject is Veterinary Science, of which 94.3 per cent of the students who study the course are white, according to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA).

Other subjects that have an above average percentage of white students include Agriculture (93 per cent), Historical and Philosophical studies (87 per cent) and Physical Sciences (85 percent).

The most diverse course is Medicine, with only 63 per of students being white, closely followed by Law, with only 65 per cent white students.
