Woah I’m surprised by this

Love Island 2019 concluded on Monday with Greg and Amber being crowned winners of the show. ITV has just announced how we all voted for our winners in the final, and the Love Island voting figures were a pretty close call!!

Greg and Amber came in first, Tommy and Molly-Mae were runners up, Ovie and India came in third and Maura and Curtis were in fourth. All of the voting was down to the public, so how close was it in the end?

The Love Island voting figures for 2019:

• 1st Greg and Amber – 48.82 per cent

• 2nd Tommy and Molly-Mae – 25.56 per cent

• 3rd Ovie and India – 18.21 per cent

• 4th Curtis and Maura – 7.4 per cent

These figures have been rounded by ITV2, so may not add exactly to 100 per cent.

After being announced as the 2019 winners, Greg and Amber were then faced with the usual choice between love or money. They were each given an envelope by Caroline Flack. One contained £50,000 and the other nothing. Greg chose the £50,000 envelope and opted for love, splitting the prize money with Amber.

According to The Sun, 21-year-old Amber got the most public votes in every vote there was throughout the series. No matter who she was coupled up with, she was always the most popular Islander with the public.

A show insider said: "It may have been a bit of a surprise that she won but the people connected to the show could see her popularity throughout the course of it.

"She was so in favour that it seemed to be a case of whoever she coupled up with would end up the winner with her."

Amber and Greg ended up winning the show with just shy of half of the public vote.
