Over the weekend new Netflix movie, Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, has taken the top spot worldwide for the most watched film. It’s absolutely bizarre, and follows a hotmess duo as they attempt to win the Eurovision Song Contest. The duo is played by Will Ferrell and Rachel McAdams whose vocals in the film are… incredible? Which begs the question, who actually sings in the Netflix Eurovision movie?

Does Rachel McAdams actually have pipes like that? Is Will Ferrell a seasoned serenader? And is the Russian entry, played by Dan Stevens, actually that multi-talented?

So who actually sings in the Netflix Eurovision movie? Here are all the real singers in The Story of Fire Saga.

In Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga, it is actually Will Ferrell singing. His voice sounds a lot like his natural speaking voice, because he voiced the song parts!

Will Ferrell is no stranger to the singing scene, and has previously shown off his impressive lungs. He performed in Step Brothers, on Saturday Night Live and during the 2007 Academy Awards.

Rachel McAdams’ bits are her voice blended with a Swedish singer

If you were shocked at how amazing Rachel McAdams sounds in the Eurovision movie, sorry to break the news, but it’s not entirely her voice. McAdams is lip-syncing, while Swedish pop star Molly Sandén (AKA My Marianne) is the real singing voice for Sigrit. Molly Sandén’s vocals were mixed with Rachel McAdams’ voice to make it sound at least a little bit realistic.

Molly Sandén is 27-years-old and has herself competed four times on the junior edition of Eurovision, representing Sweden. In 2006 she came third. The pop singer’s YouTube account shares her music videos, and she’s had over 26 million views worldwide.

Asked if she thought the vocals had been mixed, Sandén doesn’t sound so sure, telling Vanity Fair: “If they say so, maybe that’s the truth. But I just know that I didn’t really hear [McAdams] in the soundtrack. . .maybe it’s mixed in somewhere.”

Dan Stevens can sing, but it isn’t his voice you can hear either

The vocals you hear in the film don’t actually belong to Dan Stevens, unfortunately. He’s lip-syncing over the voice of Swedish singer Erik Mjönes. This might shock some people, as Dan proved he is a singer in the remake of Beauty Of The Beast. Dan was meant to be singing his own part, but the pandemic prevented him from being able to record it. He told Attitude Magazine: “That was the plan! But then…. all this happened, so I’m stuck here and they stuck with a very talented Swedish baritone.”
