Hasbulla Magomedov’s appearance is due to a genetic disorder
Reportedly standing at three feet and four inches tall, Hasbulla Magomedov is an 18-year-old with a genetic disorder that prevented him from growing at a young age. He weighs around 16kg (two and a half stone) and the disorder also affects his voice, making it uncharacteristically high.
Although his condition hasn’t been officially announced, it is thought that he has a form of dwarfism.
He is from Makhachkala, Russia
Makhachkala is a large Russian city on the Caspian Sea with a population of over 600,000 people. Many famous Russian figures have lived there including fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov, who inspired the “Mini Khabib” name.
In May Hasbulla Magomedov allegedly fought singer Abdu Rozik
Abdu Rozik is a 17-year-old singer from Tajikistan. As a child, he got rickets which, left untreated, stunted his growth. It was announced on Hasbulla’s Instagram on May 15th that the two would be fighting, with a number of posts released in the following days promoting the fight.
A press conference video followed, showing the pair exchanging words and actually fighting at points. A fight allegedly took place on May 18th, however, there is no footage online to show whether it even happened or not.
The fight has drawn criticism from campaigners
Uliana Podpalnaya, head of the Russian Dwarf Athletic Association, made a statement to Gazeta in which she said the show was planned to make people laugh.
“It’s not like even a show fight – they get paid a lot of money and it’s a show to make people laugh,” she said. “There is nothing serious about this, this is not a sport. This is unethical, wrong, from my point of view.”
