Right, is there going to be a season of two of Netflix’s Sex/Life?
The series author said she wants to keep it going
*Contains spoilers*
Sex/Life is Netflix’s latest sexy series and after eight episodes of drama, chaos and sizeable appendage, everyone is wondering if there will be a Sex/Life season two.
The eight part series is based on the book “44 Chapters About 4 Men” by BB Easton. The story centres on a housewife who has two children and a seemingly perfect marriage in the suburbs. But then she starts fantasising about her ex-boyfriend Brad and the wild sex they used to have. She relives her fantasies by writing about them in her journal, however soon her husband discovers them. Naturally chaos ensues.
If you’ve raced through to the end of the series then you will know it ends on quite a cliff hanger, but will there be a season two? This is everything we know:
How does season one of Sex/Life end?
If you wanna talk about cliff hangers then Sex/Life season one surely delivers one. At the end of episode eight it looks like Billie is gonna stay married to Cooper. They go to the school play, everything is wholesome and then she rocks up at Brad’s.
Billie tells him she is not leaving her husband but then asks Brad to “fuck” her and the screen fades to black. So it’s safe to say everyone was very confused about what the hell is going on. We definitely need a season two.
Is there going to be a Sex/Life season two?
Stacy Rukeseyer has confirmed there will be a second season, however the series has not yet been renewed officially by Netflix. Stacy said she’s unsure what direction the next season will go down and importantly what Brad will say to Billie’s request.
She said: “I don’t know what Brad is going to say to her. He really put his heart out there on the driveway and proposed a happily-ever-after to her, and that is not what she’s proposing to him. I’m not sure if Brad will say yes to that or not. But that’s what we’re hoping to get a chance to explore in Season two.”
Sarah Shahi who plays Billie says she is hopeful for a season two as she wants to continue the messy drama. She said: “It’s such a complex situation. I just hope that if we do get to Season two, we can continue down the rabbit hole because it sure is messy to play. It’s fun to play, and I think it’s just incredibly real.”
The original author of the book, BB Easton has said in an interview with the Daily Express how she would love the series to continue as so much has happened to her and her husband since the release of the show.
She said: “I kind of felt like I had written all there was to write about the story and the characters. But then I published the book and my life completely turned upside down.
“My husband and I have had so many more adventures just navigating this new world and going to book signings, and all the experiences we have had with Netflix. So I have thought about writing another memoir about all of the funny and sexy things that have happened since that book came out. I would definitely want to keep it going.”
Netflix has not said anything in regard to renewing the season, but judging by how much everyone is obsessed with it, it would surely be worth their while.
