A politics student who saw himself as a neo-Nazi “influencer” has been jailed for seven years.

Andrew Dymock, a student at Aberystwyth University, founded two neo-Nazi groups and once used a nail to carve a swastika into his girlfriend’s bum, a court heard.

He was convicted of terror offences after calling for female police officers to be raped and hanged.

The 24-year-old, from Bath, also said Jo Cox’s killer was “heroic”, used Twitter to call from the extermination of Jewish people, and said a “racial holy war is inevitable”.

Dymock founded two illegal groups – System Resistance Network and Sonnenkrieg Division.

A poster he created showed swastikas and had the words: “Rape the cops: system whores get the fucking rope.”

Despite calling for gay people to be “purged” from society, Dymock later told police that he was “bisexual but lean towards being homosexual, in direct conflict with Nazism”.

He claimed he was being set up by an ex-girlfriend.

At the Old Bailey, Dymock, wearing a pink Hawaiian shirt, was convicted of 15 offences, They included funding terrorism and stirring up racial hatred and hatred based on sexual orientation, and sentenced to seven years in prison with an additional three years on licence.

The jury was shown pictures taken from System Resistance Network videos showing Dymock holding Nazi flags, and pictures of him performing a Nazi salute.

Dymock’s father, a dentistry professor at the University of Bristol, and his mother were at the Old Bailey during the trial.

When convicted, Dymock told the jury: “Thank you for killing me”.

Judge Mark Dennis QC said: “It is readily apparent you are an intelligent, well-read, very articulate and motivated but wholly misguided individual who despite all the advantages of a good education and family upbringing chose, at the age of 20, to take the path of dreadful bigotry, intolerance and hatred towards other members of society, solely on the basis of their race, creed or sexuality.”
