Students on TikTok are sharing uni survival guides for freshers – here are their best tips

Rule number one: Get some designated night out trainers

When you’re going off to uni, it feels like you can’t breathe without getting no less than five pieces of rubbish and pointless advice shot at you. “Don’t shag your housemate”? You know you probs will if they’re fit, whoops. “Actually do your reading before every seminar”? Lol, as if.

But now people on TikTok are sharing some actually good advice for freshers, even calling their videos a “uni survival guide”. Ignore what your dad, nan and teachers are telling you – the best advice is for students, by students.

From reminding you to not go wild and blow your entire student loan on taxis and boujee clothes, to telling you the most important things to bring to uni (an extension lead, trainers that you solely wear on nights out, and a shedload of snacks), these student TikTokers are full of wisdom.

Here’s some of these university survival guide TikToks, where uni students share their top tips for freshers:

‘Walk instead of Uber’

‘Freshers’ Week is exhausting’

‘Get some designated night out trainers’

‘Have a snack box and extension leads’

‘Don’t spend your loan on Louis Vuitton’

‘Don’t bring your A-Level notes’

‘Go to every single pres’

‘Get an overdraft’

‘Don’t bring your whole wardrobe’
