Ok so who is it singing in the new John Lewis Christmas 2021 advert?

The John Lewis & Partners Christmas advert 2021 is here. So get ready to jingle your bells because it’s basically Christmas. The advert is very sweet and wholesome, you might even need to break out a box of tissues because it’s definitely a tear jerker. But the part that stands out the most to us is the song. This leaves the question, who sings in the new John Lewis Christmas 2021 advert?

What is the John Lewis & Partners Christmas advert 2021 about?

According to John Lewis, this year’s advert is all about being together and escaping after so many of us had to spend Christmas away from our families. It follows Skye, a young alien who has crashed in the woods and is found by a young boy called Nathan. Nathan then continues to show Skye the build up to Christmas Day. He shows them mince pies, decorating and lighting up a tree and watching iconic Christmas films.

But of course like any other John Lewis advert, we find ourselves weeping when Skye has to return home. Nathan and Skye share a kiss, something Skye learnt from watching Christmas films with Nathan. Is anyone else ugly crying right now?

Who sings in the new John Lewis advert?

After watching the advert, you won’t be able to relax until you work out who it is singing and what iconic song it is.

The original song is Together In Electric Dreams by Phillip Oakey and Giorgio Moroder. For the John Lewis 2021 advert, the song has been covered by Lola Young. Her version is slow, it really focuses on her vocals and the piano. Lola is a 20-year-old singer from South London. She went to Brit School when she was younger which was also the school of Adele, Amy Winehouse and Raye.
