The Apprentice’s Akshay has been the director of five failed companies before the show

Akshay Thakrar from The Apprentice was the director of five failed companies before he got on to The Apprentice and failed as the first week’s project manager. After the chaotic and tyrannical leadership skills he demonstrated for the cruise challenge, it should come as a surprise to absolutely no one that his business career hasn’t been a rip-roaring success up to this point.

The 28-year-old Akshay’s first business was when he set up a record label whilst he was a student. The label, named Vivid Records Ltd, was founded in November 2011 but had gone under and been fully dissolved by July 2013. No accounts were filed for why the company was dissolved and no reason given. In April 2014, Akshay was a joint director of an advertising agency called Silver Crescent Media that had total assets of £509 by the time the company was voluntarily dissolved less than two years later in March 2016.

In October 2014, Akshay set up Aumetric Media Ltd but it was registered to be struck off the register of companies in January 2016. Akshay also set up a company called Nativelabs Ltd in July 2015 and just over a year later in September 2016 it was voluntarily dissolved. Its May 2016 balance sheet showed that Nativelabs Ltd had total assets and a bank account amount worth £4.

The fifth of Akshay Thakrar’s failed companies before he got on The Apprentice was Roq Media Ltd, which was set up in March 2017 and lasted a measly four months before being struck from the register in July 2017. Not really spectacularly great going for a candidate who boasted on national television that “his first word was ‘profit'”.

On the companies, Akshay said the following to the MailOnline: “These companies were simply registered when I was younger. My company, Triple AMT Group Ltd, has now been trading for 4 years and continues to grow year on year with total current asset value worth six figures in the previous account record.” Akshay escaped a firing on last week’s The Apprentice, and after all five of his failed companies he is now the director of a digital marketing company.
