Ok, ok so you’ve just watched Encanto and asked yourself the most obvious question: Where would each character go to uni? What would you favourite character study and what would they be like at uni? Would they be president of your society? Or spending every night at the local student night club chugging Jagerbombs? Well, fret no more because just like Casita, this article is the miraculous answer to all your prayers.

Here’s which UK uni every Encanto character would end up at:

Isabela – Oxford

She is saying to freshers “I don’t want a sound out of you!”

Obviously Isabela is an overachiever so is there any question of where she would go? Definitely an Oxbridge girl who lives at one of the old posh college halls that I’m too much of a povo to know about. I get the strong feeling that she studies PPE and has never gotten anything lower than a high 2:1 (if that).

Mirabel – Oxford Brookes

If Isabel is studying at Oxford then Mirabel is studying at Oxford (Brookes). Don’t get me wrong there is nothing wrong with studying at Oxford Brookes as long as you can avoid the awkward explanation of the fact that you have never actually been to *the* Oxford.

Regardless, she is probably studying English Literature and Creative Writing and will end up getting a First. She is definitely writing a *fictional* best selling book about growing up as an outsider that will be made into an award-winning Netflix show though.

Her family is coming to Oxford only to visit her sister. Sad.

Casita – Kingston University

Okay so Casita is not a person and cannot technically attend a uni but she gives very strong Kingston University vibes. She is about to do one year on an undergraduate fashion design course and then drop out after getting a job offer on the first day of her internship.

Luisa – Loughborough

Is there any question of where Luisa would go? She would definitely be the Commonwealth Champion in weightlifting before going off to Loughborough University and getting a degree in something to do with sports.

You can spot her around campus, always wearing gym clothes (though that might not help because everyone is always wearing gym clothes) and carrying a huge bottle of water decorated in unicorns. More than likely though, she’s going to be President of the SU choir because that girl can SING.

Abuela – Durham

Here she is at some ceremony for a “secret” society, judging you

I’m sorry but Abuela applied to Cambridge but she didn’t get in. She really only wanted to go because it was expected of her but the fact that she didn’t get in made her spiral. Instead she had to settle for Durham. She deferred her acceptance, took a charity based gap year, applied to Cambridge again (didn’t get in again) and is studying at only one of the best unis. Quelle horreur!

Bruno – Swansea University

Nobody’s talking about Bruno because Bruno chose to go to Swansea University to study Psychology. No, this isn’t a subtweet at someone in my family who did exactly that, but where the hell even is Swansea? And why go there? Wales is somehow even more dark, wet, and miserable than England and even though the university is near a beach, let’s just say no one is going to visit.

Julieta (Mirabel’s mum) – York

Her flatmates love her because of her baking. They also hate her because of her baking.

Julieta. Honey. You are at York University. Why she decides to go so far up north, who knows? Even though she is studying biomedical science, she spends most of her time baking in her tiny student flat. Whilst it might be nice to smell and eat, the mess is enough to give her flatmates nightmares. She really wants to get on Bake Off and is obsessed with Freya from last year’s series.

Uncle Felix – Newcastle

Uncle Felix is a vibe, going to uni only for the parties and clubs. Where else would he go but Newcastle? Probably studying engineering for some reason, he is going to get a 2:2 and celebrate because at least it’s not a Third.

He and Pepa are in a long distance relationship

Aunt Pepa – Open University

This might be a bit of a cop out but you just know that Pepa is not staying in the UK with its miserable weather. Nay, nay! She is off to sunny Spain to chill on the beaches and catch a couple siesta zzzzz. But don’t fret, she’s still getting her performance arts degree on Open University. Why be constrained to a campus when you can study at the university of life?

Camilo – Bristol

He lives in catered halls and never misses a meal

Little Camilo is following in the footsteps of him mother and studying drama. He definitely seems like he would fit in with the wannabe edgy Bristol boys and is going to overly dramatically perform a self-penned monologue in his final year.

Dolores – Leeds

She’s about to post all your secrets on her Insta

Leeds. Just Leeds. That’s where Dolores is going to get her three year degree in Journalism. However, she will likely spend most, if not all, of her time on her curated TikTok on Instagram pages posting her outfit of the day and promoting her Depop shop. Dolores also has a gossip finsta which has a decent following but might get shut down for exposing people. With the rest of her time (not that she had much), she plans crazy nights out as a social sec.

Antonio – Edinburgh

Imagine the bird is a pigeon x

Antonio is a child. He should not be going to uni but when he eventually does, he would definitely be in Edinburgh studying veterinary sciences. His free time would be spent bird watching the pigeons that fly through town.
