Netflix released their latest original film this weekend to critical acclaim and huge popularity, with The Adam Project shooting right to the top spot of the coveted Netflix top 10 chart. The Adam Project is a time-travel adventure film starring Ryan Reynolds as Adam Reed – a fighter pilot from the future who ends up crash landing in 2022 and teaming up with his 12-year-old self in order to save the world. But Ryan Reynolds isn’t the only huge Hollywood name in The Adam Project, with the film having an all star cast flanking him in supporting roles. Ryan Reynolds as Adam Reed

I mean, it’s Ryan bloody Reynolds – does he need any introduction? If he still does for you, he’s best known for Deadpool where he redefined the iconic hero in his own name. Reynolds has also starred in Blade, Free Guy, Life, Detective Pikachu and The Proposal.

Walter Scobell as 12-year-old Adam

Walter Scobell plays Adam Reed in his 12-year-old era – and this version of the character is a bit of a tearaway, struggling to come to terms with the recent death of his father and his mother trying to move on. This is Walter Scobell’s first ever role.

Jennifer Garner as Ellie Reed

Jennifer Garner stars as Ellie Reed in the 2022 timeline, Adam’s mother. Jennifer Garner is a prolific actress, and is best known for her roles as Elektra in the pre-MCU Daredevil films, Love, Simon, Dallas Buyers Club, 13 Going on 30 and as her lead role as Sydney Bristow in Alias.

Zoe Saldaña as Laura

Zoe Saldaña plays Laura, Adam’s wife and the starting point for the entire events of The Adam Project. Zoe is best known for her roles in huge blockbusters such as Avatar and Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy – which of course spawned her appearances in The Avengers films and has resulted in her becoming the second highest grossing actress of all time at the box office.

Mark Ruffalo as Louis Reed

More MCU alumni in the cast of The Adam Project come in the form of Mark Ruffalo as Louis Reed – Adam’s deceased father and the man responsible for making time travel possible in the film’s cinematic universe. Ruffalo is of course known for his role as Bruce Banner aka The Hulk in the MCU, but has also starred in films such as Zodiac, 13 Going on 30, Dark Waters, Spotlight and Shutter Island.

Catherine Keener as Maya Scorian

Catherine Keener plays the villain of the film: Maya Scorian – the power hungry ruler of Adam’s dystopian future. Keener is best known for her roles in films like The 40 Year Old Virgin, her Oscar nominated role in Being John Malkovich and her role as the evil psychiatrist mother of Daniel Kaluuya’s girlfriend in Get Out.
