Is It Cake? Is coming to Netflix tomorrow and it looks just as bizarre as it sounds
It’s so ridiculous but I am obsessed
Tomorrow Netflix is dropping Is It Cake? and yes, it is as weird as it sounds. But the show is two years too late because it’s purely based on a trend which had the entire world in chokehold back in 2020. You know the one, when someone would cut a random object in half and we’d be met with the most beautifully moist slice of cake – what a time it was.
This show takes absolutely zero brain power to watch. Even Netflix has described Is It Cake? as “quirky” so you already know it’s downright fucking weird. Netflix has been heavy recently with Bad Vegan, The Tinder Swindler and Inventing Anna so it’s good to get some mind numbing content out there before the return of our beloved and cherished Bridgerton. So grab a slice of your cake and eat it because here’s everything we know about Is It Cake? on Netflix so far.
It’s hosted by a man who appears to knows nothing about baking, obviously
The vibes he gives off in the trailer all scream and point toward him never having stepped foot in a kitchen before in his life and I love it. His name is Mikey Day and his only job is to….slice the cakes. He has literally zero knowledge about baking.

There are cash prizes up for grabs
So there’s nine contestants and eight episodes. Three bakers at a time go head-to-head in a “winner goes onto the next round” kind of format. Their way to make it onto the next round is by fooling a panel of celebrity guests AND having the best-tasting cake – for this they win $5,000.
The money can potentially be doubled to $10,000 in the final round where the bakers themselves are given a choice between a real cake and a fake cake. If they guess right then they claim $10,000 but if they guess wrong then they’re still able to take the $5,000 and try again in the next episode. So it’s not completely savage.
The celebrity panel has some big names
Karamo from Queer Eye and the famous TikToker Britney Broski are both on the panel! Even Rebecca Black makes a feature plus a load of more famous faces. You can watch the trailer here for season one ahead of its release tomorrow.
