Natalie says she and Shayne split after she found ‘flirtatious messages with other women’

Love Is Blind’s Natalie Lee has responded after her ex-fiancé Shayne Jansen spoke about their relationship on Nick Viall’s podcast.

On the podcast Shayne claimed the couple tried “four times” to make their relationship work but confirmed it was over after a recent argument. He said: “There were some things that happened in the last couple of days where it’s just like, I’m fed up with it now.”

Shayne also accused Natalie of calling him a “disgusting human being'” because she “still can’t get over” his post-show talks with Shaina Hurley who he also had a connection with in the pods. On top of this he also addressed ways in which Natalie apparently mistreated him and he discussed other frustrations he had with her.

However Natalie came through with a statement last night clearing up her side of the story and revealing some things Shayne said and did. She said she never told Shayne what to say or do but she did ask him not to drink alcohol before filming serious scenes and to not share in-depth details of their intimacy out of respect for her family. Natalie also said the last part of that was what led to them having a fight in Mexico.

She continues: “I did not run from my conversations with Shaina on the beach – I had the conversation with her but it did not air. All the cast members were present for this scene, including Shayne. I was frustrated with Shayne that day because I heard he said something negative about me behind my back to one of the cast members when I was a few feet away and I let him know I thought it was disrespectful. Several cast members were present for this conversation I had with him.”

Natalie then specifically addressed the part where Shayne claimed she called him a “disgusting human being”. She said she only said this because Shayne called her up before the podcast telling her he was going to “bury” her and “drag” her down with him.

She then revealed the reason behind the couple splitting up last year and it was because she came across “flirtatious messages between him and other women” and it’s been something she hasn’t been able to get over.

Shayne also said the couple dated four times after their wedding but Natalie says it was only twice. She said: “We rekindled the weekend we filmed the reunion episode but decided to keep the door closed. Recently we met up to discuss the possibility of reconciliation but ultimately agreed not to date until he changed some of his behaviours. A few days later, I fully closed the door for any type of reconciliation after discovering some lies he told about me.”

Natalie’s post ended with her saying she is “saddened and confused by his dishonesty on the podcast”.

The Tab reached out to Shayne but has not yet received a response.
