Here are all the celebrities who have supported Johnny Depp during the trial
Ex-girlfriend Kate Moss is due to testify on Wednesday
The Depp v. Heard defamation trial comes to a close on Friday (23rd May), at the end of six weeks of testimonies.
Johnny Depp is suing Amber Heard for £39 million, after the actress wrote an op-ed in which she called herself a “public figure representing domestic abuse.” She’s countersuing him £81 million in damages.
Before the jury is sent away to decide on a verdict (there are six possible ways the trial could end), a few witnesses will still be called to testify, as well as the closing statements from the pair’s respective legal teams.
Kate Moss, Depp’s ex, will reportedly be testifying on Wednesday – but she won’t be the first high-profile celebrity to voice her opinions on the case. These five Hollywood stars have also spoken out in defence of Johnny Depp:

Winona was engaged to Depp between 1990 – 1993, after meeting at the premier of Great Balls Of Fire. While the actor was in the middle of suing The Sun for calling him a “wife-beater,” she was outspoken in her support for him.
“The idea that he is an incredibly violent person is the farthest thing from the Johnny I knew and loved,” she said. “He was never, never violent towards me. He has never been violent or abusive towards anybody I have seen.”

In October 2020, Sia voiced her support for Depp on Twitter.
“Just showing my public support for Johnny Depp,” she said. “I mean, I’d love him to get clean and stop with the jewellery, but he is clearly the victim after hearing those tapes.”

Penélope starred alongside Depp in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. She filed a deposition (a statement of evidence) for the Depp vs. Heard defamation case in 2020.
“I’ve seen Johnny in so many situations and he is always kind to everyone around,” she said. “He is one of the most generous people I know.” She added that Depp treated her with “sweetness, protection and kindness” while on set.

According to LADBible, Chris Rock recently made a dig at Amber Heard during the London leg of his Ego Death tour.
“Believe all women, believe all women… except Amber Heard,” the comedian reportedly said. “What the fuck is she on? She shit in his bed! She’s fine, but she’s not shitting fine.”
He continued, “what the fuck is going on there? And they had a relationship after that? It must be some amazing pussy. I’ve been with some crazy bitches, but goddamnit.”

As well as being married to Penélope Cruz, Javier also starred alongside Depp in several Pirates of the Caribbean films. In a document he wrote in 2020, he reportedly said: “I love Johnny. He has always been a true gentleman and an extremely generous and caring friend to my family and myself.
“On top of that I’ve had the gift of working with him twice and have experienced his respectful attitude towards every single member of the crew alongside his unique and hilarious sense of humour.”
