Anton Danyluk says he regrets going on Love Island and wishes he never applied
He said the trolling got so bad, he asked his girlfriend what was wrong with his face
Anton Danyluk has revealed he has days where he regrets ever going on Love Island after being trolled and bullied online over cosmetic surgery rumours. Anton, who rose to fame on season five on Love Island, admitted he has tried to ignore negative comments about his looks since he has become a bodybuilder.
Anton has had an epic transformation since starring on the ITV 2 reality show, and has faced cosmetic surgery questions by people on social media. Speaking with MailOnline, Anton said after years of being bullied at school, which led to him suffering from an eating disorder, he doesn’t want anyone to endure what he has.
The TV personality admitted he asked his girlfriend, Dom Blonska, if something was wrong with his face, after one of his followers wrote: “What the f**k did you do to your face? Looks like you’ve been stung by 100 bees.” He said: “I’d be lying if I didn’t say it affects me some days. Some days it doesn’t bother me at all. Some days I’m just like, ‘that’s absolutely fine.’
“But I was sitting with my girlfriend the other day and there are all these comments about my face and about having work done and I was like, ‘what’s wrong with me face? I just don’t get it.”
When asked if he regrets his decision to apply for Love Island in 2019, Anton said he does. “I think we’ve kind of called it the Love Island curse, it’s like a catch-22. I do sometimes wish that I never did so I didn’t have to go through that.”
He continued to say: “It’s funny because I was bullied when I was a kid for being overweight and that was the main reason that I physically got into living a healthier lifestyle.
Now, all these years later I’m getting bullied in a different form. I don’t think I would have been able to deal with it as well as I do now if I’d never gone through that when I was younger. I hope that no kid has to deal with it in the way that I have to. But my thing always was that if I could help one person to not have to go through what I went through, then I’ll be doing something right.”
