Yik Yak has started working on the University network again
The Uni is yet to officially confirm the lifting of the ban
Tom O'HalloranYik Yak has suddenly been un-blocked on the University network, and despite continued silence on the issue from the University itself, Yakkers who live on campus are happy to have their favourite Yak-themed anonymous social platform back.
The app appears to have been unblocked at around midday
A motion was passed at the Student’s Union AGM last night to pressure the University to unblock Yik Yak. However because of the University’s silence on the matter at the time of writing, it is unclear whether this is the cause of the ban being lifted or if the ban was simply a temporary measure with an automatic cut-off point.
it is likely that the University will announce the removal of the ban via an email fairly imminently, at which time we shall know their reasons. Until then, Happy Yakking!
