QUB beats Oxford in new university rankings

Unfortunately, we didn’t beat Cambridge

QUB has been ranked in the top 50 universities for the 2016 whatuni Student Choice Awards.

This year’s whatuni.com student choice awards list has been released, and QUB hasn’t done very well.

Queen’s was knocked down one place from last year’s mediocre ranking, falling to 48th on the league tables.

It’s not all bad though – in terms of graduate prospects 95% of us are securing a job or place in further education within six months of leaving our fair QUB, placing us at 5th out of 125 unis.

Mandela Hall has also ranked at the 11th best SU, scoring 4.0 out of 5. Our accommodation, on the other hand, has let us down – leaving us at a miserable 86th place.

Harper Adams topped this year’s table (why?), followed by Loughborough and Swansea University.

Sociology third-year, Padraig Mac Cionnaith told The Tab: “Looks like Queen’s is finally within reaching distance of good ol’ Jordanstown – uppa poly.”

It’s not all bad though, Ulster University didn’t even make the list.
