Chickens coming home to Roosters
Rejoice! Beloved student eatery Rooster House is scheduled to reopen this weekend
Selly Oak’s best loved student eatery Rooster House is nearly back in business with the reopening scheduled for this weekend, and boy does it look classy.
When some faulty circuitry caused Rooster House to go up in flames, the local student population were united in their grief.
With parallels being drawn to the smiting of Sodom and Gomorrah, we feared that our delicious post-Fab chicken fix might never return.
The Tab can reveal however, that Rooster House will return stronger than ever. Strong in the face of adversity, owner Tahir Mahmood has used the opportunity to totally refit Selly’s rose.
Freshly decorated with bright white tiles and a swanky wood effect counter, the new Rooster House would be the pride and joy of any middle class family.
Gone is the old red wooden door that would so often let that winter chill through, and the old fryers which served us all so well in our time of need.
Instead, the entirety of Rooster House has been stripped out, revamped and polished ready for a big reopening this weekend.
Tahir reassured The Tab that all the old favourites will be back, churning out delicious golden chicken just as before.
However, there will be some new additions. High on the list is stir-fried chicken along with a selection of pastas.
Tahir told The Tab that in celebration of the reopening he’d be providing “a special deal. Pizza will be £1.99!”
Rooster House should reopen this weekend and with the return of Fab, the timing couldn’t be better.
If you’re still in the midst of exams, we suggest an exodus from the library to the Chicken Mecca.
