Riding Dirty: Fab goers mugged in drive-by theft
The attackers grabbed the victims’ hands while they rifled through their pockets
An innocent couple were mugged as they strolled home after enjoying a night out at Fab.
The incident occurred last Saturday as a second year and his girlfriend were walking home.
They had safely reached the corner of Bristol Road and Tiverton Road when a car drove past and a small group of men inside started hurling abuse at them.
The student, who wishes to remain anonymous, shouted “fuck you”, but instantly regretted his decision as the car pulled over and two men ran after them.

The couple had reached Tiverton Road when they were stopped by the hooligans and mugged.
The second year told The Tab: “I was walking back from Fab with my girlfriend just after 2am when some men in their mid twenties drove past us on the corner of Tiverton and Bristol Road and shouted something abusive at us.
“I can’t remember what they shouted but it was offensive, so I shouted back ‘fuck you’.
“We then walked on down Tiverton when two of the men came running after us and stopped us.
“One of them held my hands while the other went through my pockets and stole my phone, student ID and driving license.”

The powerless girl tried to stop the vicious attack but they pushed her away.
Her boyfriend added: “My girlfriend tried to get in the way but one of the men pushed her out of the way.
“They then went through her pockets, but not her bag which had all of her possessions in.
“They then said ‘this will teach you a lesson for being a cheeky cunt’, and ran off back down Tiverton towards their car.
“The whole thing only lasted about a minute, and I have given a full statement to the police.”
The couple had a lucky escape, and fortunately his driving license has been found.
“I found out today that some good Samaritan found my driving license and sent it to my home in Manchester, so it’s not all bad.
“I’m fine. I feel sorry for the muggers ending up with my Blackberry to be honest, and it was just an inconvenience to lose my driving license.”
