Brum student Lily Owsley has just won Olympic gold

The women’s hockey team took gold over the Netherlands


21-year-old Brum student Lily Owsley has just won gold at the Rio Olympics.

GB’s women’s hockey team beat the Netherlands, whose national sport is hockey, in a penalty shoot-out.

Lily, who studies Sports Science at Brum, has 98 caps to her name, as well as 25 goals. She’s also been voted the ‘FIH Rising Star of the Year’.
