Student’s Macbook stolen in new library

‘Three other laptops were left unattended but only mine disappeared’

On Tuesday evening, law student Raya Nili had her Macbook Air stolen from her while she was in the new library.

Raya believes that her laptop was stolen between 5:40-6:15pm while she was in the library cafe.

She told The Tab: ‘I left it in one of the booths on the first floor whilst I went down to get a coffee for 20 mins’.

But when Raya got back to the booth, her laptop was gone. She said: ‘Three other laptops were left unattended on the table but only mine was taken. I lost the notes and plan I made for my 4000 word coursework…I’m heartbroken.’

This incident highlights the risk of leaving your belongings unattended while on campus.

While Raya is in contact with campus security and the police, she is still waiting to be reunited with her laptop.
