Everything you need to know about UOB’s new Dubai campus

Taking it to a whole new level

It has been announced today that as of September 2018, the University of Birmingham will have a second campus, over 3,000 miles away in the UAE’s largest city, Dubai.

Imagine writing your essays with this view

The new campus is said to provide “a world-class British education” and will offer a variety of courses which will all be taught by “outstanding academics who are experts in their field”. Undergraduates will have the choice of three or four year courses in Business Management, Computer Science, Economics, and Mechanical Engineering. Postgraduate courses in International Business, Computer Science, and various Education Programmes will also be on offer, and the university has stressed that entry requirements will be the same as the UK campus.

The new campus will see UOB become the first global top 100 and Russell Group University to create a Dubai campus and is described by Professor David Eastwood as “the next step in our global mission”.

The UK campus is already home to many international students and offers UoB degree programmes at multiple partner institutions such as China and Singapore, however, this will be the first exclusively UOB campus to be created abroad.

Dubai is the largest city in the United Arab Emirates, and is located on the southeast coast of the Persian Gulf. It is home to the famous Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, and is known to be a centre of innovation. It’s warm temperatures, luxurious shopping opportunities, and consistently good weather make it a popular holiday destination. One thing is for certain, at the Dubai campus there would be no more morning walks to uni in the pouring rain.

Old Joe’s still better though
