2016 Bake Off winner Candice Brown is coming to campus!

She’s giving a talk as part of UoB’s Book to the Future Festival

The winner of 2016's Great British Bake Off, Candice Brown, is coming to the UoB campus as part of the University's Book to the Future Festival 2019.

She rose to fame as the contestant who always wore bold shades of lipstick, but quickly impressed the British public with her outstanding baking skills and amazing cakes that she produced in the GBBO tent.

Now, she's coming back to UoB – where she graduated from in 2006 – to talk about her road 'From Brum to Bakes', and give us the inside scoop about her upbringing, as well as her time on the popular baking show.

Candice's talk is one in a series of others that are taking place as part of the Book to the Future festival, the annual free literary festival on campus that features a programme of free workshops, panel discussions, performances and author talks.

Other events include a talk by the New York Times best-selling author, Tasmina Perry, a panel on food blogging with the founder of Digbeth Dining Club, and much more.

Candice's talk is being held in the Bramall Music Building this Saturday at 6pm. Tickets are free and available via Eventbrite.
