An eight day strike is due to take place from the 25th November

The University of Birmingham Guild Officers team yesterday released a statement on the Guild of Students website commenting on the strike which is due to commence in 10 days time.

The Guild Officers team said that "the University has a responsibility to maintain good industrial relations on campus" and to "ensure that the academic experience of students is not negatively affected by industrial action".

The Officers team also maintain that they are "committed to ensuring that we remain a welcoming, inclusive space with learning and student opportunities protected as a priority", adding that "any rooms not booked out by societies will be opened up for students to be able to study and learn independently".

The Guild Officers team have promised to keep students informed as the matter develops, making clear that they "want the best for both students and staff at Birmingham".
