In pictures: The Vale Reclaim the Night protest

Survivors shared their testimonies throughout the night

After the murder of Sarah Everard last week, vigils have been held across the country to support survivors of sexual harassment and sexual assault.

Yesterday, a peaceful protest was held at The Vale Village. Female and male students attended lighting candles and holding signs to stand in solidarity.

Five minutes of silence for Sarah Everard opened the protest. This was followed by testimonies from survivors.

People started gathering from 6pm

“Protect your students not your reputation”

People sat to listen to testimonies

“Why do we need to ask to not be raped”

“Not all men but enough”

People brought candles and signs

“The dress is not a yes”

“End violence against women”
