Freshers’ Week is back and so are clubs! Here are all the best pics of the chaos so far
Cue the inevitable carnage
Freshers’ Week has returned to Birmingham for another year.
Last year saw the series of club nights and parties cancelled due to Covid, instead replaced by slightly sub-par sit down events.
After turning 18 in lockdown, for many freshers, this will be their first experience of clubbing and the carnage of Broad Street.

Following the closure of clubs for the last 18 months due to the coronavirus pandemic, thousands of new and existing students from University of Birmingham, Aston and Birmingham City University descended on Broad Street and Digbeth for another week of Fresher’s events.
Beginning on Saturday, the start of Freshers’ Week saw events hosted by clubs including Pryzm, Rosie’s and The Mill, with hundreds of people queuing outside each venue.
With clubs only reopening recently, for many students in this new cohort, this week will be the first time they have been out in Birmingham or, indeed, ever.
Inevitably, the first nights out saw the usual “silly fresh” carnage of people pissing on the pavement, chundering in allies and being taken away in ambulances, but most people seemed in good spirits for their first taste of uni life.
