Kate stalks Wills from Edinburgh to St Andrews
A new book reveals how Kate rejected Edinburgh to chase her future husband.
Kate Middleton snubbed Edinburgh for St Andrews so she could chase Prince William, a new book claims.
In ‘Kate: The Future Queen’, Mail on Sunday Royal Editor Katie Nicholl says the Duchess of Cambridge switched her choice of university from Edinburgh to St Andrews and took a gap year (yah, surely) so that she would be attending the same time as her future husband.
Perhaps it wasn’t a coincidence that the two bumped into each other at St Andy’s. William’s place at the university became public knowledge in 2000 and, despite a 44% increase in applications after this reveal, the former Miss Middleton dumped her Edinburgh offer of two As and B, and reapplied in 2001 for St Andrews.
Careers advisor, Jasper Selwyn, from Marlborough College, where Kate attended school, said that her firm choice had been Edinburgh and that her decision to reapply had come as a surprise. Didn’t turn out too badly for her. Maybe Kate instinctively knew she’d one day be married to the future king. Lucky for some.
In the book, you can also read about their 2007 break (Kate apparently not happy about Wills fondling a brazilian model in a club) and the how their casual trip to the Seychelles, resulted in a pact to get married and live happily ever after.
Or maybe that was the mother in law’s doing. Carole Middleton reportedly had some strong words with the prince at Christmas 2009, pressuring him about popping the question. The rest, as we know, is history. And 48 hour media coverage of the royal wedding.
