Students are just the same as pensioners

They’re both poppin’ pills

| UPDATED

Pensioners and students. Opposite sides of the age tree and yet they seem to have adopted similar (if not sometimes ironically) patterns of behaviour.

Today, thanks to years of research into the subject we will show you some of these remarkable similarities between the two species.

1. Strange Sleeping Habits

Both are known as two of the lesser active groups of society and yet students seem to be the ones who get tired the most and who can be found slouched on the sofa, snoring loudly.

Now, although this may perhaps be for different reasons (an exhausting/animalistic evening of bingo versus a classy soiree of beer pong), both seem used to sleeping all day. Scientists do not seem to be able to find a clear pattern.

2. Discounts! Discounts! Discounts!

Old people and young adults are the people that like to whine the most about how the world is corrupt and unfair and that there is need for change and yet they seem to be the ones who are given all the niceties. Everything is cheaper! Bus journeys, clothes, cinema tickets, museums, etc…

3. Whining

Students still think they can change the world and that what their parents told them is rubbish. They know best because they are the future and they clearly see through the lies that their parents couldn’t. Silly parents.

Old people, however, just don’t care any more, complaining is fun and time consuming! They also don’t have have the social pressure of being judged for extreme views. So, the young whine because they still haven’t lived and the old do it because they have.

4. Always on drugs

Ok, perhaps they aren’t the same drugs (except for the occasional hipster grandma) but there is definitely the same constant consumption. Really is there any difference between a pill popping kid in a dingy nightclub and grandpa popping his pills while watching Countdown?
