Ed CampbellTensions were running high at Why Not last night when the normally swanky club descended into a mosh pit.

Particularly rowdy partygoers led to a crowd more likely to be seen at Download than at a student night.
£1 shots and other cheap drinks were obviously doing nothing to quieten everybody down.
One would-be people’s champion tried to calm everything down by confronting one of the main instigators of the chaos.
He was successful for about thirty seconds before mob rule returned and more drinks (and whatever else) were dropped.
Not sure if he enjoyed himself
The atmosphere of last night has proved divisive with some inexplicably not enjoying the constant invasion of their immediate personal space.
Fresher Eleanor said: “You got pushed every five seconds if you even attempted to dance.”
A more pressing issue than the meaning of life
Despite all the chaos new relationships were formed.
Will we ever find out who this girl is?
But nobody had a worse night than this guy.
