Here are eight ways to spend this Valentine’s Day in Edinburgh
Regardless of whether you’re madly in love or deeply bitter
With Valentine’s Day only a few days away, if you haven’t got plans you really need to get a wriggle on. It doesn’t matter if you’re celebrating with your significant other or your favourite friends, no one should be spending the day alone.
Whoever said Valentine’s Day is only for those flaunting their romantic love is just wrong.
So with that in mind, here are eight fun ways to spend Valentine’s Day, regardless of your relationship status:
1. Let loose at Kinky Disco
Kinky Disco are putting on their very own Valentine’s Day special at La Belle on Monday 14th February, aptly named: For The Love Of Disco.
If you’re looking for a fun night out filled with good vibes and funky disco tunes, this night is for you.
Tickets are £7 and are selling out fast, so make sure you buy them before they’re gone! You can get them here.
2. Indulge in as much chocolate as humanly possible
Now that Christmas has passed, this is your one chance to go all out on the chocolate without feeling an ounce of guilt.
If you want to take it to the next level, Edinburgh even has a few chocolate shops and cafes which make the perfect casual date location.
3. Get artsy and do some pottery painting
Embrace your creative side and go on a cute Doodles date! Even cuter, make something to give to your date as a Valentine’s Day present. Two birds with one stone.
Doodles are even doing a buy-one-get-one-half-price deal on mugs on the 14th.
4. Go on a spooky ghost tour
Edinburgh is known for its insane amount of tourist tours, and in particular their night time ghost tours. It is one of the world’s most haunted cities after all.
This is the perfect way to spend a fun night with either a romantic partner or your besties. Feign fear with your amor as an easy way to hold their hand, or go with your single pals as a “screw you” to the loved-up festivities.
We all know there’s nothing scarier than a good ghosting story.
5. Go for fancy Valentine’s Day cocktails
If ever there’s a night to dress up and splash out on the drinks, it’s Valentine’s Day. Head out to Edinburgh’s best and boujiest cocktails bars, such as The Alchemist, Dragonfly and The Devil’s Advocate.
But remember, there’s nothing like being drunk on love.
6. Go to the cat cafe if you’re feline romantic
Maison de Moggy is Edinburgh’s very own cat cafe, and is the perfect place to go on Valentine’s Day.
Whether you’re a single cat lady wanting to be surrounded by your true loves, or have a cat loving partner who would appreciate the gesture, the cat cafe is the place for you.
And if you’re more of a dog person, there’s always the chihuahua cafe.
7. Get drunk and watch some ‘good for her’ films
Feeling single and bitter? Not for long. Turn off Bridget Jones and put on something more femme fatale. Personal favourites include Midsommar, Gone Girl, Jennifer’s Body, and Ready Or Not.
Pour a glass (or five) of red wine as a symbol of your ex’s spilt blood.
8. Take your boo on a romantic trip to Appleton Tower
No explanation needed. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone x
