Leeds top for Media (thanks to The Tab)

Yeah, we’re definitely taking credit for this

According to LinkedIn, Leeds Uni is the best in the country for landing graduates jobs in the media.

The website, launched in 2003 and now with over 300 million members, placed Leeds first, ahead of Oxford University, with many successful Media students landing places at the BBC and Sky.

The Tab, which launched in 2009, exists at 47 universities, including Leeds.

The ranking calculates the “most desirable” jobs according to each particular degree, calculating a desired job by assessing the number of applicants to the company against number of employees wishing to leave the company.

Famous media alumni from The University of Leeds include Daily Mail editor Paul Dacre, Sky Sports Presenter Georgie Thompson and BBC Business editor Kamal Ahmed.

The university topped the table with almost 8,000 graduates on LinkedIn working in the Media and Communications field, ahead of Oxbridge (2nd and 7th) and universities with specialist journalism courses such as Cardiff (3rd).

We don’t think it’s any coincidence that this great news has come about since the launch of The Tab, who have been dominating the media landscape in Leeds since 2012.
