The Victoria line was evacuated due to a bomb scare

It’s just reopened

Commuters at Victoria Station were left stranded at rush hour this morning after a bomb scare meant the entire station had to be evacuated.

At around 9:51am the station, one of the busiest in the UK, announced there was a “security alert” and it was closing in order to respond to it.

The Metropolitan Police Service then tweeted that officers were attending a nearby building “following the discovery of what is believed to be World War 2 ordnance.”

It’s now reopened

However the tube, mainline rail and bus services were opened at 10:15 as police stood down.

All services are now continuing as normal.
