UCL makes the top 20 in the Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings

Third in the UK and on the up

UCL is 16th in the 2017 Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings, making them third in the UK. The rankings are based on both research and teaching.

Oxford and Cambridge have the top UK spots, coming in at joint fourth in the world. Like last year, Harvard, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford have the top three scores.

UCL is four places up from last year, having overtaken Imperial which dropped from 15th place to 18th this year. LSE is 20th and King’s is 41st.

Overall, the UK has nine universities within the top 100, with Edinburgh, Manchester and Warwick also making the cut.

Rankings-wise, it’s been a good couple of months for UCL: for the second year running, UCL came seventh overall and third in the UK in the QS World Rankings, as well as seventh in the UK in the Complete University Guide 2018 League Table.
