Southampton Needs YOU To WIN A Performance By The Maccabees and Hot Chip!

SURGE Radio could soon be responsible for one of the biggest parties of the year, thanks to a collaborative project between Spotify and Jose Cuervo Tequila that is offering a campus party sponsored by the two companies to the Student Radio playlist that gets the most votes.

Surge offered its DJs the chance to submit tracks for the playlist, which can now be seen and voted for here (the website has been moved to a Facebook App), and they delivered – the playlist looks sick, and if enough people vote it into the top 10 by the time the selection round closes, Southampton could be a step closer to holding a wild night courtesy of Jose Cuervo and Spotify.

Surge’s playlist peaked at 7th, but is now down at 18th – as if that wasn’t bad enough, Portsmouth University are currently first (though one must be dubious about results regarding Portsmouth…) if you vote, you will also get entered into individual prize draws to win smaller prizes, as one Surge presenter found out when she won a bottle of tequila. Votes can be placed every 5 minutes, so make sure you check it out and cast your vote before it’s too late – lets make this party happen!
