Audrey Rachlin, 4th year Biology, outside of the Sports Centre
The Stand: If you could improve one thing about the Sports Centre, what would it be?
Audrey Rachlin: More equipment in the main exercise area, just because if you come around 4 or 5 p.m., you can’t ever get a spot on anything.
The Stand: If you could be amazing (we’re talking Olympics material) at one sport, which one would it be?
AR: Definitely lacrosse.
The Stand: Best thing that you did this summer?
AR: Went wine-touring in California.
The Stand: If you were one of the Kardashian sisters, which one would you be?
AR: Khloe, because she is a legend.
Jack Dudding, 3rd year Biology, by the St. Andrews Museum
The Stand: What was the best thing that you did this summer?
Jack Dudding: I did an unpaid internship in Virginia. I worked for the Department of Gaming and Fisheries.
The Stand: Do you have any advice for freshers?
JD: Try as many things as you can … find your place.
The Stand: Sainsbury or Tesco?
JD: Tesco.
The Stand: If you could bequeath one thing to the University for its 600th birthday, what would it be?
JD: Better biology facilities, I think.
Ed Fry, 1st year English, outside the Union
The Stand: What is your favourite Toastie?
Ed Fry: I prefer a toastie with ham and cheese. Sometimes with tomato, maybe a bit of lettuce … it really depends on the bread. Brown bread I like to be not so cheesy, white bread … definitely cheesy.
The Stand: If you could be amazing at one sport, which one would it be?
EF: Pole vault, definitely. It just seems the most fun … it just looks awesome.
The Stand: If you were one of the Kardashian sisters, which one would you be?
EF: I only know Kim, so I would be her. But I think that it is sort of a lesser of three evils: it would be best to be the most famous one.
The Stand: What is the best thing that happened to you this summer?
EF: I got into St. Andrews! That was definitely the best thing.
Bea Bennett, 1st year Art History and Biblical Studies, on the North Haugh
The Stand: What is your favourite type of Toastie?
Bea Bennett: Plain cheese. The Original.
The Stand: What is the best thing that you did this summer?
BB: I went to Greece and laid on a beach for a week.
The Stand: If you could improve one thing about the Sports Centre, what would it be?
BB: I would add a swimming pool!
