St. Andrews is expanding its influence on the classical music scene, as a unique contemporary festival comes to town.

The brainchild of Director of Music Michael Downes and Sonia Stevenson, St Andrews Voices aims to present an international wealth of classical and modern music for the first time in Scotland. Featuring performances in the Byre Theatre and Younger Hall, the festival is anticipated to draw crowds from surrounding areas as well as throughout the UK.

Voices boasts performers from all over the UK, ranging from St Andrews’ St Salvator’s Chapel Choir to the Boxettes, an all female vocal group actually featuring the world champion beatboxer (we’ve checked, this actually does exist) and back to the classical stylings of artists like Gavin Roberts, Julius Drake, and Marie Arnet.

Tickets are available through the Byre Theatre’s Box Office at 01334 475 000 or at www.byretheatre.com, for more information, click here.
