Night of Art at #40: Presenting a variety of artwork from all over the world, with after-party at Ma Bells, look no further for a truly VIP experience this Tuesday. A bash thrown by the mysterious TwentyOneTwelve, canapes and live music are a feature at this truly sophisticated night of casual luxury, with a chance to meet the artists whose work adorns the ballroom walls. Did I mention the open bar? There’s an open bar. AN OPEN BAR.

A’capella Society Christmas Concert: We’ve done Thanksgiving, so it’s time to throw yourselves into the Christmas spirit! We hope you’ve prepped the flat with tinsel and got your advent calendars ready for deployment (making it to December fourth before scoffing them all at once is cheating by the way). If you’re still feeling more Grinch than Buddy the Elf, the annual A’cappella concert is the remedy: come along to be serenaded in style by the, frankly, very attractive ensembles of the Accidentals, Alleycats, Hummingbirds, Other Guys and new, un-auditioned kids on the block, Vocal Bandits. Dig out the Santa hats, Thursday at 7.30pm.

DONT [sic] WALK LAUNCH: Every BNOC (lol) in town will be there folks, so we hope you will too. No matter what you think about the beautiful people over at DW trying to change the world one conceptual photo-shoot at a time, you have to admit that they know how to have a party. Two DJs, signature cocktails and shots, cupcakes, photo-booth and food by Mitchells. If this is what hipster is, let me grab my polaroid and join the club.

St Andrews in Song: It’s a great week for concerts, with the Fellowship of St Andrews giving another one on Wednesday at 7pm to raise money for the your600th campaign. With all music classically inspired by St Andrews, and not the Chariots of Fire soundtrack for once, Sallies chapel with hold host to vocalists from the G&S Society and the Santiago Singers, amongst others. Just in time for St Andrews’ Day, let’s show some East Fife Coast pride.

Dumbledore’s Army: With Quidditch already on the cards, the epitome of Rowling fandom is here.  The Harry Potter-ites of St Andrews are just not happy with the sad demise of the HP/Gin society, so they’ve formed a club which doesn’t rely on a love of Ron Weasley AND a decent supply of tonic. The sorting will commence on Sunday afternoon from 2 – 5pm at that well-known wizarding spot, the Vic. Go along to discover your true destiny in the magical world…
