3 of 14 to-be-completed luxury West Burn Townhouses still available
Anyone have a spare £800,000?
After ten years and four rejected development plans, fourteen properties designed by local property developer Eastacre Investments are to be built on West Burn Lane in the centre of St Andrews and will be completed by August 2014. Due to high demand, just three of the fourteen properties are still available for purchase.
Previous plans were rejected on grounds of lack of affordable housing, visual pollution and road safety, but Eastacre’s recent development has successfully passed all planning guidelines.
Ranging from apartments to townhouses, with a four story gateway building to top it off, this development is state-of-the-art, oozing luxury. The prices start from £400,000 and range up to £800,000. The three remaining townhouses are at the top of the price range at £800,000, but for this you get four bedrooms, three bathrooms and a stunning outside terrace on the top floor, perfect for viewing the stunning scenery of St Andrews and beyond.
Fife Council service manager Alastair Hamilton says that the houses are of a “contemporary, simple design”, but it is assured that these modern styles will not clash visually with the traditional buildings of St Andrews and will in fact compliment the surrounding area.
Eastacre commented on their website that they are “very excited to be helping to shape the future look of this area in town”. With the University already combining successfully old and new architecture, these modern houses could be an initial attempt to infuse historic residential St Andrews with the 21st century.
