Grad scheme debuting at management fair supposedly ‘not about money’
Less Wolf of Wall Street, more Red Nose Day
The grad scheme Frontline is proclaiming to be a less soulless route to success.
It may be one of the best career boosters around, but the world of graduate schemes is notorious for its brutality, with endless rounds of rigorous interviews pitting you against insanely qualified individuals who would sell their grandmothers to get a job photocopying for two years in one of the world’s biggest, wealthiest and most ruthless companies.
Campus Brand Manager Bea Bennett said “It’s not about money, it’s about good people changing the lives of vulnerable children and young people in the UK.”
Frontline recruits and trains high-achieving graduates and places them as social workers in some of the UK’s most challenging local authorities. Founded just over three years ago, Frontline has already found a place in The Times Top 50 Graduate Employers, due to the unique opportunity it offers graduates to fast-track into one of Britain’s toughest but most rewarding careers.

Bea Bennett explained why the scheme might be a better option than other daunting grad jobs.
Why should you do it?
“Frontline is a great opportunity to get into a career that gives back to society, where you can really see the positive impact you’re making on a daily basis. In two years you receive intensive leadership and social work training leading to a postgraduate diploma and a Masters, whilst gaining on-the-job professional experience as a social worker with your own cases.
It’s an emotionally challenging but incredibly rewarding job; it’s life-changing for you and for the people you will help.”
Who are they looking for?
“There are no specific subject requirements, you just need a 2:1 or above. The personality requirements are more important. Frontline is looking for people with emotional resilience, empathy, communication skills and the desire and motivation to use their intellect to do good for others rather than simply to make money.”
How can you get involved?
“It’s an intensive recruitment process, but if you’re the right person for the job you’ll get through it. There are online tests, Skype interviews and eventually an assessment centre, but Frontline are on hand to help you every step of the way. Just drop them an email if you have any questions! They’ve got that personal touch that so many graduate recruiters lack.”

There’s a presentation on Friday 16th October at the Careers Centre from 10:45 and Frontline will also have a stall at the Management & Finance Fair on Friday, 12-3 in St Andrews Town Hall.
