The best vegan places to eat in Brighton
It’s the vegan capital of the UK
2016 seems to be the year of veganism, with a huge wave of people turning vegan and vegetarian. Brighton is pretty much vegan central, there are plenty of places for you dairy and animal free food lovers.
Even if you’re not vegan, these places to eat are definitely worth a try. From vegan pizza to vegan pancakes, being vegan in Brighton has never been better, so here’s where you need to go:
Looking for a proper meal
Purezza
Every pizza is vegan, with a range of adventurous veggie and meat substitute toppings and even one with a hummus base. And they deliver.
Loving Hut
This place does all day vegan breakfasts, a range of Chinese food and a load of (yes still vegan) fast food including ‘chicken’ nuggets and chips, perfect if your missing your Maccies fix.
Iydea
Like no place you would’ve been before, definitely a place you’ll want to bring your vegan and veggie mates. A variety of vegan food you didn’t even think you could still eat and hearty portions too.
And they do cake…

The Almond Tree
A vegan cafe outside the Laines does exist. This sophisticated little deli will make you see there’s more to vegan food than just vegetables. It’s also up for nomination in the Gluten Free Brighton Awards for their breakfasts and brunches, that’s got to count for something too right?

VBites

Tapas style food at Rootcandi
This place started out serving their food a few nights a week at Iydea, but got so popular it took over the restaurant, which says it all! Great for group dining, and who doesn’t love tapas that’s good for the conscience?
Planet India
Oh yes, Brighton even caters for vegan curry lovers. There’s a branch in Brighton and one newly opened in Hove, for wherever in the city you end up. You can even get two half portions of a meal to ‘feed ONE hungry person’ as they say on their menu. All the exotic flavour a real curry should have, with none of the animal produce.
