Cancelled lectures? Here’s how to fill your time at Sussex during the strikes
Maybe it’s time to finally address that reading from week one
The first day of the UCU strikes are well underway at Sussex. Absent lecturers and picket lines have left many students purposeless with even more free time on their hands than usual.
To help relieve the boredom, we've compiled a handy guide on how to fill up your time for the remaining 13 days of strikes.
Find your way out of a maze
Thanks to some architectural genius, Sussex has its very own maze in the form of the Silverstone building. Why not head down there, navigate to the top floor and then spend a few hours trying to get out.
Grab some friends and go and eat all of the mozerella sticks in Falmer Bar
Yes, all of them. Until you're told there are no more left.
Queue in the Co-op at lunchtime
That'll while away an hour or so.
Visit Sussex's answer to the Winchester
Go to East Slope, have a nice cold pint, and wait for all of this to blow over.
Wrestle a seagull
Stand outside with a meal deal, bait the unsuspecting bird in, and then engage in an epic Man vs Bird fight for the glory of a ham sandwich.
Do the work that you're missing
(just kidding)
See how many laps of campus to town you can do on the 25 bus …
… before you die of boredom.
Go through your inbox and delete all the random society emails from Freshers' Fair
Pole dancing society? Who was I kidding?
Infiltrate a Brighton Uni lecture
First Year Maths are learning their three times tables this week.
Email Adam Tickell complaining about your lectures that have been cancelled
Put pressure on the uni in the hope that this will all be over soon.
