Sussex co-op introduces ‘Quieter Hours’

There will be no music during the time slots

| UPDATED

The co-operative, located in Bramber House at Sussex uni, has introduced Quieter Hours to cut back on anxious shopping experiences.

Quieter Hours have been brought in to help customers who struggle with music and other noises to have a more relaxing and peaceful supermarket shop.

Music will be turned off, lights will be dimmed and all other supermarket associated noise shall be kept at a minimum.

Quieter Hours will take place on Saturdays from 11am to 1pm and on Sundays from 3pm to 5pm.

The overall aim is to make an easier shopping environment for adults and children who are on the autism spectrum, but anyone who would value the Quieter Hours are also welcome to come in too.

The Quieter Hours scheme has been practiced by several other large supermarket chains over the past several years, such as Morrisons and Tescos.
