York beat Oxbridge in the latest uni league tables

We were 31 places higher than YSJ

York students have ranked our university the 34th best out of 125 in the country, in a new league table published on whatuni.com

Unlike other uni league tables, the WhatUni rankings are based on actual student reviews of their experiences.

Altogether 25,000 past and present students voted on ten different categories, including job prospects, courses, student unions, accommodation, clubs and societies and facilities.

At first glance, this position may not seem to be much of an achievement. Yet, we should pride ourselves in the fact that our overall student rating falls above both Cambridge and Oxford, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Bristol and all of the universities in London.

We fell behind a number of rogue universities such as Leeds College of Art, St Mary’s University Twickenham and Harper Adams who placed first.

Unfortunately, YUSU was a problem for students this year. It was ranked 102nd place in the Student Union category.
