DBar are now selling £1 pints on Wednesdays

Emilia WreltonDBar are going to be selling pints for just £1 every Wednesday. Take a moment to let that sink in.
The event has been created in order to “encourage students out of their dorms, to remain on campus and to socialize” says bar manager Nick, who hopes that the event will be very college friendly. The event is not just for sport club socials and is open to everyone, incuding non-Derwenters.
The offer will be available on pints of Stella, Blackthorn and Boddingtons every Wednesday and no admission fee will be charged.

The aim is also, in a way, to police binge drinking. By offering people a cheap place to pre-drink on campus, Nick hopes that it will reduce the number of people downing bottles of vodka before heading to town.
Tom, a member of Derwent rugby, a club who can be found at their local watering hole most mornings, afternoons and evenings, said about the news, “Making bad decisions is now cheaper than ever.”
DBar aren’t worried about the competition from Yates Pound-a-Pint Wednesdays as most people head to town later in the evening as DBar’s event will run 8pm-10pm which leaves plenty of time to get to town afterwards.
