Kuda student nights return to York with table service

This week, one of York’s most popular nightclubs ‘Kuda’, has announced that they will be reopening their doors on 13^th October to restart their ‘Kuda Tuesdays’, a night that was recently dedicated to students.

The club has announced that they will be abiding to the most recent government guidelines by allowing bookings to be made for their table service in ‘Kuda’ as well as their equally popular ‘Tiki bar’. Each night will be ticketed in order to manage social distancing within the venue. The venue will also be closing at 10PM in line with all other bars and restaurants in England.

Bookings are able to be made through the club’s Facebook page through a Facebook messenger link as well as an option to book on their website.

This announcement however, comes in the same week as The University of York announce a rise in Coronavirus cases with over 100 students testing positive for Covid-19 in the first week of term.

Other clubs such as ‘Vodka Revolution’ and ‘PopWorld’ have already been operating in York successfully. Many have been adapting their venues to accommodate table service only and social distancing measures, keeping up to date on the government guidelines in order to keep everybody safe.

However, some clubs in York are yet to announce whether they will be reopening at all. Club Salvation, another of the city’s most popular night clubs, have not yet announced their plans to reopen. With talks last year of the venue becoming holiday apartments and restaurants, there are doubts as to whether the club will ever reopen their doors again.

Covid-19 cases amongst University of York students are also rising, with 1000 students said to be currently isolating from the York community.
